Systems Security Analyst

Healthcare Industry – Northeast U.S.

Compensation: 125k - 145k


Our client, a leading academic healthcare provider, is seeking a Systems Security Analyst to join their information security team. This is a hands-on, senior technical role supporting the Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) in advancing the organization’s cybersecurity posture. The position offers the opportunity to work in a complex, regulated environment with critical responsibilities across threat management, compliance, and incident response.


The Role

As a Systems Security Analyst, you will:


  • Administer and optimize security tools, including SIEM platforms.

  • Provide

    second- and third-level support

    during security incidents.

  • Lead and contribute to

    vulnerability management, penetration testing, and incident response

    initiatives.

  • Collaborate with infrastructure and business units to ensure

    policy compliance and best practices.

  • Develop and maintain

    security documentation, architecture, standards, and procedures.

  • Participate in

    GRC activities, supporting HIPAA, PCI, and other compliance requirements.

  • Evaluate emerging technologies, research threats, and recommend improvements to strengthen defenses.

  • Support

    eDiscovery and audit functions

    as required.


Candidate Profile

The successful candidate will bring:


  • 10+ years of IS experience, including at least

    5 years in information security.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems (Master’s preferred).

  • Three or more security certifications

    (e.g., CISSP, CCSP, OSCP, CISA, CRISC, GIAC, CEH, Security+).

  • Strong expertise in

    networking, packet analysis, and endpoint security.

  • Solid knowledge of

    risk assessment, cryptography, and PKI.

  • Experience with

    security frameworks

    such as NIST, ISO 2700x, ITIL, or COBIT.

  • Proficiency in Windows and Linux environments, along with mainstream security tools.

  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work across teams in a fast-paced environment.
