SOC Manager– Nationally Established Organization | Northeast US

Salary:$155,000 – $170,000 + Benefits

Location:This person needs to be based in the North East of the US.

A nationally recognized and well-established business in the Northeast is seeking an experienced SOC Manager to lead and develop their Security Operations function.

This is a high-visibility role with responsibility for managing a growing team and ensuring that enterprise security operations are effective, aligned with best practices, and fully supportive of organizational objectives. The position offers flexibility to work for either an internal SOC or a Managed Security Service Provider (MSSP) environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Take ownership of a SOC team of 5 analysts, with plans to grow the team to 8 members in the near term.
Provide strategic leadership, mentorship, and operational oversight to ensure high performance and professional development of SOC personnel.
Serve as the primary liaison to senior leadership, clients, and internal stakeholders, providing clear communication on security operations, incidents, and risk posture.
Deliver strong technical guidance and solution support to the SOC team while not being hands-on in day-to-day technical tasks.
Drive continuous improvement in SOC processes, workflows, and capabilities to enhance overall security monitoring and response effectiveness.

Qualifications:

Minimum 2 years of experience managing a SOC team remotely, preferably in a national or multi-location environment.
Proven ability to liaise effectively with senior leadership, clients, and internal stakeholders.
Strong understanding of SOC technologies, threat detection, incident response, and security operations workflows.
Experience with team growth, resource planning, and operational management within a security operations environment.
Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills.
