Network Security Specialist – Leeds hybrid - £45,000 - £55,000 + Great benefits


Locke & McCloud are looking for an experienced Network Security Specialist to join our client. This is a great opportunity for someone who likes to work on a diverse range of projects and get their hands stuck into multiple different pots at once! You will be able to stay technically hands-on whilst working in an organisation that is centred around progression and excellence!


Main Responsibilities:

  • Implement and manage network security solutions using Juniper, CheckPoint, PaloAlto, and Fortinet technologies to safeguard our clients digital assets and infrastructure.

  • Continuously monitor network traffic, security logs, and alerts to identify and respond to security incidents promptly.

  • Configure and optimize firewall policies, intrusion detection/prevention systems, VPNs, and other security devices to maintain a strong defense posture.

  • Play a key role in incident response activities, including the investigation, containment, and remediation of security incidents.

  • Conduct vulnerability assessments and penetration testing to identify and address security weaknesses proactively.

  • Develop and enforce network security policies and standards in alignment with industry best practices and compliance requirements.

  • Promote security awareness among staff through training programs and the dissemination of security best practices.

  • Maintain detailed documentation of security configurations, incidents, and procedures for future reference and auditing purposes.

  • Collaborate with security solution vendors to stay updated on the latest threat intelligence and product updates.


To be considered for this role, you should have:

  • Hands-on experience in network engineering or network security.

  • Experience working with Juniper, CheckPoint, Palo Alto, or Fortinet technologies.

  • Proficiency in configuring, deploying, and troubleshooting network security devices.

  • Comprehensive understanding of network protocols, routing, and firewall concepts.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think like a hacker to anticipate and counteract cyber threats.
