GCP Cloud Security Engineer

​GCP Cloud Security Engineer | Remote, UK | £70,000 - £80,000

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Cloud Security Engineer with expertise in Google Cloud Platform (GCP). The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining secure cloud solutions on GCP.

Responsibilities:

• Design and implement secure and scalable cloud solutions on GCP that meet business and security requirements;

• Develop and maintain security policies, standards, and guidelines for GCP environments;

• Conduct security risk assessments and identify security vulnerabilities in GCP environments;

• Implement and maintain security controls, including IAM, VPC, Firewall Rules, and Cloud Identity and Access Management;

• Integrate security into the DevOps process by implementing security testing, vulnerability scanning, and compliance checks;

• Monitor and analyse security logs and alerts to identify security incidents and respond to them in a timely manner;

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure that security is integrated into all aspects of cloud infrastructure and applications;

• Conduct security training and awareness sessions for internal stakeholders.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field;

• 5+ years of experience in cloud security engineering with a focus on GCP;

• In-depth knowledge of GCP services and technologies, including Compute Engine, Kubernetes Engine and Cloud Storage;

• Experience with security and compliance frameworks such as SOC 2, PCI DSS, and HIPAA.

• Familiarity with DevOps and agile methodologies;

• Strong communication and collaboration skills;

• Certifications such as GCP Professional Cloud Security Engineer or Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) are a plus.
