Senior Infrastructure Engineer – UK remote - £40,000 - £50,000 + Excellent benefits

Locke & McCloud is working with a leading MSP who are rapidly growing their Infrastructure team and are looking for a talented Senior Infrastructure Engineer to join their established team. As the Infrastructure Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining the organization's IT infrastructure. You will be expected to lead the infrastructure team, oversee infrastructure projects, and collaborate with other departments to ensure that technology systems meet business needs. You should have a deep understanding of networking technologies.


Main responsibilities:

• Design and implement infrastructure solutions that meet business needs, including servers, network devices, and storage systems.

• Manage the infrastructure team, providing leadership, guidance, and mentorship to team members.

• Collaborate with other departments to ensure that technology solutions align with business needs.

• Evaluate new technologies and tools to improve infrastructure performance, security, and reliability.

• Develop and maintain disaster recovery and business continuity plans for infrastructure systems.

• Monitor and maintain infrastructure systems to ensure high availability, performance, and security.

• Develop and implement security policies and procedures to protect infrastructure systems from internal and external threats.

• Work with vendors and contractors to ensure that infrastructure systems are properly maintained and supported.

• Provide technical support to end-users and resolve infrastructure-related issues.

• Document infrastructure configurations, processes, and procedures to ensure knowledge transfer and standardization.


To be considered for this role, you should have:

• Infrastructure engineering, with a focus on networking, security, and cloud technologies.

• Strong leadership and project management skills, with a proven ability to lead teams and manage infrastructure projects.

• Deep understanding of networking technologies such as LAN, WAN, and SD-WAN.

• Strong understanding of security technologies, including firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems, and security incident response.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to troubleshoot complex infrastructure issues.

• Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.

• Ability to document technical configurations, processes, and procedures.
