Security Service Manager – UK remote - £40,000 - £55,000 + Excellent benefits!


Locke & McCloud is working with an established IT Services Consultancy to bring into the team an experienced Security Service Manager. You will be responsible for overseeing our clients security operations, ensuring the safety and security of employees, customers, and assets.

You will lead and manage a team of security personnel, develop and implement security policies and procedures, conduct risk assessments, and provide security training and awareness programs to employees. As the Security Service Manager will also collaborate with other departments to identify and mitigate potential security risks and incidents.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage security personnel: The Security Service Manager will be responsible for recruiting, training, and managing a team of security personnel to ensure they are adequately trained and equipped to perform their duties. They will oversee scheduling, timekeeping, and disciplinary actions as needed.

  • Develop and implement security policies and procedures: The Security Service Manager will be responsible for developing and implementing security policies and procedures that meet organizational and regulatory requirements. They will regularly review and update these policies to ensure they remain effective.

  • Conduct risk assessments: The Security Service Manager will regularly assess potential security risks and develop strategies to mitigate them. They will work with other departments to identify vulnerabilities and implement controls to minimize the risk of security incidents.

  • Provide security training and awareness programs: The Security Service Manager will develop and deliver security training and awareness programs to employees to help them recognize potential security threats and take appropriate action to mitigate them.

  • Collaborate with other departments: The Security Service Manager will work with other departments to identify and mitigate potential security risks and incidents. They will collaborate with facilities management, IT, and legal departments to ensure security policies and procedures are integrated into overall organizational strategy.

  • Monitor security systems and equipment: The Security Service Manager will oversee the monitoring of security systems and equipment, including access control systems, CCTV, and alarm systems. They will ensure these systems are operating effectively and identify and address any issues or malfunctions promptly.

  • Manage security incidents: The Security Service Manager will be responsible for managing security incidents, including conducting investigations, gathering evidence, and reporting incidents to law enforcement as appropriate. They will also ensure appropriate measures are taken to prevent similar incidents from occurring in the future.

To be considered for this role, you should have:

  • Strong experience in security management, preferably in a corporate or industrial setting.

  • Proven experience in developing and implementing security policies and procedures

  • Knowledge of security industry standards and regulations

  • Strong leadership and management skills

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

  • Ability to conduct risk assessments and develop risk mitigation strategies

  • Experience in managing security incidents and investigations

  • Proficient in using security systems and equipment, including access control systems, CCTV, and alarm systems

  • Ability to work collaboratively with other departments and stakeholders

  • Relevant security certifications such as Certified Protection Professional (CPP) or Physical Security Professional (PSP) are preferred, but not essential.
