Infrastructure Security Engineer – Gloucestershire hybrid - £35,000 - £50,000 + Bonus + Benefits

Locke & McCloud are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Infrastructure Security Engineer to join our dynamic IT team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in the installation, configuration, and maintenance of Windows platforms, hardware, and software, with a focus on security. You will be responsible for ensuring the integrity and security of our infrastructure, managing network and system security, and implementing effective security measures across our IT landscape.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Security Administration:

    Implement and maintain security measures to protect the company's infrastructure, including anti-virus, firewalls, and patch management.

  • Infrastructure Management:

    Oversee the installation, configuration, and maintenance of Windows Server 2012-2019, VMware, VSphere, Hyper-V, Citrix, VDI, NAS, SAN, and Veeam backups.

  • Network Security:

    Administer and troubleshoot network security systems, ensuring robust protection against cyber threats and vulnerabilities.

  • Cloud Automation:

    Utilize PowerShell and Linux for cloud automation tasks, ensuring secure and efficient cloud operations.

  • System Monitoring:

    Manage SCCM, SCOM, SCVMM, MDT, InTune, MS Exchange Online, and MS Endpoint to monitor and maintain system health and performance.

  • Disaster Recovery:

    Develop and maintain disaster recovery plans, ensuring data integrity and system availability in the event of a security incident.

  • Compliance and Documentation:

    Ensure compliance with ITIL Service Life Cycle standards, maintain detailed system documentation, and contribute to process improvement initiatives.

  • Technical Support:

    Provide expert technical support for Microsoft Office Suites and O365, addressing security-related issues promptly and effectively.

To be considered for this role, you should have:

  • Proven experience in cyber security analysis, with a strong understanding of cyber threats, vulnerabilities, and attack vectors.

  • Hands-on experience with security tools and technologies, such as SIEM, IDS/IPS, endpoint protection, and vulnerability scanners.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to effectively analyse and interpret security data and logs.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.

  • Ability to work effectively under pressure and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field; relevant certifications (e.g., CompTIA Security+, CEH, CISSP) preferred.
