Head of Incident Response & Threat Intelligence – Manchester – £80,000 plus benefits

Are you an experienced SOC Manager or Incident Response Lead who is looking for the next step in their career? Have you got in depth experience in cyber risk assessments, threat modelling and managing purple teams?

Would you like a role that allows you to have a significant influence on the cyber security processes and strategy of your company? If so, then I may have the perfect role for you.

I am currently working on a unique role for a leading cyber consulting company based in Greater Manchester. They are looking to make several hires in the Security Operations and Incident Response division and have an open vacancy for an experienced Head of Incident Response & Threat Intelligence.

This role will be instrumental in creating and defining cyber and incident response processes, managing and overseeing the teams to ensure correct usage of the vast number of threat hunting tools and technologies at their disposal, as well as used and management of third-party vendors.

The Head of Incident Response and Threat Intelligence will be responsible for launching their SOC & IR division and will have full autonomy over systems selection, hiring and strategy for the business unit. The role will involve:

  • Building, leading and supporting teams of security experts who specialise in the detection, response and recovery of cyber breaches.

  • Working closely alongside other teams to identify recurring patterns and propose clear actions to reduce associated risks.

  • Providing relevant market intelligence to C level stakeholders.

To be considered a suitable candidate for this role, you should have:

  • Experience of leading cyber incident response activities in large organisations.

  • Experience in relevant security frameworks and solutions.

  • Prior experience of the cyber threat landscape and techniques and tactics used by adversaries.

  • Relevant industry certifications such as CISSP, CISM, CREST or GIAC.

My client is looking to set up Skype interviews ASAP and are looking to have someone come on board to get started ASAP. It is preferable that you are located within a commutable distance of Manchester, but 1-2 days remote working is on offer.

This is a great opportunity for an experienced and ambitious senior leader in the Incident Response and Threat Intelligence field to join a company where they can have a real influence on things and use their experience to shape the companies cyber security roadmap.

There is a clear career path to progress to a Director role within 12-18 months for the right candidate.
