Data Privacy Expert – London hybrid - £55,000 – £70,000 + Bonus + Benefits

Locke & McCloud are working on a super exciting project with our client who are looking to expand their globally recognised Data Privacy team, with the addition of a Data Privacy Expert. In this role, you will act as a Data Privacy Expert to the global privacy function and wider organisation as they begin to re-strategize their data protection and privacy roadmap. You’ll have the opportunity to be hands on and lead various projects and programs, in addition to creating and implementing change, enabling you to make a real impact within the Data Protection space!

This role would be great for someone with hands on/technical experience in data privacy/protection projects on a global scale, ideally in regions such as EMEA, APAC/similar.

Main responsibilities:

  • Lead the development and implementation of a data privacy strategy.

  • Collaborate with senior stakeholders, including executives and board members, to communicate the importance of data privacy and gain buy-in for strategic initiatives.

  • Conduct assessments of the current state of our clients data privacy function, identifying areas for improvement and developing a roadmap for transformation.

  • Work closely with legal counsel to ensure that our clients data privacy practices are compliant with relevant laws and regulations.

  • Manage relationships with external vendors, including privacy consultants, law firms, and technology providers, to support the implementation of data privacy initiatives.

  • Partner with internal teams, including IT, security, compliance, and human resources, to integrate data privacy principles into business processes and systems.

  • Lead change management efforts to promote a culture of privacy awareness.

  • Develop and deliver training programs and educational materials to increase awareness of data privacy best practices among our clients employees.

  • Monitor emerging trends and developments in data privacy regulations and technology, and adapt the strategy accordingly.

  • Establish KPI’s and metrics to measure the effectiveness of the data privacy program and report progress to senior management.

To be considered for this role, you should have:

  • Must have prior experience in data privacy, preferably in a technical/hands-on role

  • Strong understanding of global data protection laws and regulations, including GDPR, CCPA, and other relevant frameworks.

  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate with senior leaders.

  • Proven track record of driving organisational change and implementing process improvements.

  • Experience managing relationships with external vendors and consultants.

  • Strategic thinker with the ability to translate complex regulatory requirements into actionable plans and initiatives.

  • Strong project management skills, with the ability to prioritise and manage multiple initiatives.
